ELevate everyday Styling

My personal interior style philosophy is to make everyday living stylish, by making the small moments beautiful.

We tend to wait for important occasions to ‘pull out’ the good pieces; the best linen, the fancy cutlery and the good dinnerware.

An excellent example of this is your tableware at home. Do you have the everyday set of plates and cutlery and then a fancy set for when entertaining guests?

But why not treat yourself and use the fancy set every day or at least once a week? You don't need a special occasion to use the cloth napkins over the paper towels.

It's just a small swap out, but you'll instantly elevate your style, add a touch more luxury, and you'll have more enjoyment eating your meal.

The best part is it didn't cost you anything!

Especially when styling your home, small updates, changes and swap-outs that require minimal effort can instantly elevate your home and uplift you and your family.

ADDING BLOOMS

Adding blooms is another to way to elevate everyday style. It's impossible not to be energised and elevated by the presence of flowers.

With Spring here in Australia, it's the perfect time to add some blooms to your home. But if you live in a location where the season is currently Autumn, there is still abundant opportunity to use what's in season.

One option is to buy an arrangement from your local florist, or go with a simple bunch of flowers on mass for a pop of colour.

My fave is hydrangeas on mass because of the maximum impact with minimal effort. That's my kind of flower!

update your coffee-table books

Who doesn't love a good coffee table book?

Coffee table books are generally hard-cover, have an emphasis on beautiful images, be either eye-catching in colour and feature a bold type-face on the spine. Like cushions, if you ever decide to change up the mood of a room, you can always swap out one stack of books for another.

Invest in coffee-table books by visiting your local bookstore or by browsing online, in a book genre that you love.

I love interior, architecture, fashion, floral, art, and photography coffee-table books, because the focus is on inspiring imagery. I often pick up one of the books to flick through while I'm sitting on the sofa and always feel inspired when I read through them.

Once you have your new books, style them on your coffee table in stacks of two to four. Use ceramics, bowls candles, flowers… or any trinkets to create your coffee table cluster.
