styling with confidence

As a style director and interior editor, I’ve acquired lots of tips and tricks for finessing my decorating eye. I've learned how to define and refine my style while staying true to its essence.

My style doesn’t fit into one box…

I like to mix mid-century vintage with contemporary, using a warm neutral colour palette. My home is curated with art, ceramics, furniture & homewares collected over the years, and holds meaning to me and my family.

Most importantly, my focus is always to style a home my family love to live in.

It’s taken me a few years to figure out what my personal interior style is. Truth is I like a few different styles! But through trial and error and working as a stylist I know that I love neutral, caramel, rust, and beige teamed with B&W. I love mixing old and new, interesting shapes and lots of texture. There isn’t really a label for my style but I now know how to define it and let it guide any style choices I make.

Below are a few tips for Styling your home with confidence.. And owning it!

Own Your Style

Your home is a reflection of you so don’t be afraid to display what you are drawn to. There’s no wrong or right way to style, as long as you style with intention. For example, you can try clustering your favourite objects and treasures into vignettes, rather than just placing random bits here and there, so it looks like a deliberate, meaningful choice.

Change it Up

If you’re feeling bored with it all, have a play with changing the layout of your room. I’ve changed up my living room layout several times over the years, and it breathes new life into the room. Move an armchair from the bedroom into the living room or shuffle your artwork around and watch it transform before your eyes.

Create Cohesion

This one’s a bit trickier, but trust me it pays off. For a room to feel ‘put together’ try to define an overall colour palette to create cohesion. Even if you have an eclectic mix of furniture and/or style in your home, a harmonious colour palette will work wonders for tying it all together.

I would absolutely LOVE to help you figure out your style and to teach you the art of creating a home that truly reflects YOU and what you love.
